Ethel Margaret Campbell, Duchess of Argyll (née Whigham, formerly Sweeny; 1 December 1912 – 25 July 1993) was a Scottish heiress, socialite and aristocrat who was most famous for her 1951 marriage and much-publicised 1963 divorce from her second husband, Ian Campbell, 11th Duke of Argyll.

Prince George, Duke of Kent (George Edward Alexander Edmund; 20 December 1902 – 25 August 1942), was a member of the British royal family, the fourth son of King George V and Queen Mary, and a younger brother of Kings Edward VIII and George VI. He served in the Royal Navy during the 1920s before briefly working as a civil servant, and in 1934 was created Duke of Kent. That same year he married Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, with whom he had three children: Edward, Alexandra and Michael.
In the late 1930s he joined the Royal Air Force, holding staff appointments at RAF Training Command and, from 1941, in the Welfare Section of the Inspector-General's Staff. George was killed in an air crash in Scotland in 1942, aged 39, becoming the first member of the royal family in more than four centuries to die on active service.

David Niven
James David Graham Niven, més conegut com a David Niven, (Londres, 1 de març de 1910 - Château-d'Oex, 29 de juliol de 1983) fou un actor de cinema anglès.
Fill d'un general i d'una aristòcrata, va estudiar al Rowe College i al Sandhurst Military College, i va ingressar a l'exèrcit per seguir la tradició familiar.
Inicialment, Niven va treballar d'extra a diverses pel·lícules de l'oest a Hollywood, però no va ser fins a la seua actuació a Rebel·lió a bord de l'any 1935 que va iniciar la seua llarga carrera com a actor principal.
Figura emblemàtica del «cavaller britànic» en el cinema, David Niven era conegut per la seva flegma i la seva actitud elegant en tota circumstància. Figura important del cinema dels anys 1950 i 1960, es recorden sobretot les seves interpretacions a La volta al món en vuitanta dies, Els canons de Navarone, 55 dies a Pequín, The Brain, La Pantera Rosa o també Taules separades, per la qual va rebre l'Oscar al millor actor.
